Bou & Lou
Big Fat Three-Day Wedding in Greece
The wedding of Bou and Lou was, hands down, one of our biggest challenges of the season. We started planning almost a year in advance and fell for the couple instantly. They’re the kind of people who take care of you, even if they’ve only met you once over a FaceTime call. We knew right away that this would be one of our favourite (and, let’s be honest, most logistically complex) weddings because:
A) it was supposed to be a three-day experience, B) there were approximately a million things happening at any given moment (mostly dancing), and C) we had our nine-month-old baby on board, so imagine the mess we were expecting :D
For the first time in our lives, we were a tiny bit nervous. But then we met Bou and Lou in person and realised there was absolutely nothing to stress about (we still stressed, ofc). They turned out to be the sweetest humans, which is probably why we ended up shooting like absolute maniacs and this here is just a very petite slice of the final gallery.
And the video? Well… it more or less evolved into a documentary. But honestly, there was no other way, because this was the kind of experience that refuses to be neatly trimmed and tucked away on a hard drive.
For outsiders - here is some little snapshots from our diary to clue you in:
“Finally checking in, breathing heavy from the heat and gear. Its on! We have spent past year talking this through, then talked it over just a bit more to make everything flow. It’s a hustle travelling with u girl (our then nine month old). All the more for a three day wedding affair. Fortunately you are the sweetest thing so we can’t be mad.”
“We just covered the night of the white chairs and Kamena Vourla feels like home already. Hugs, dancing, grill, beers and more dancing - the wedding is gonna be wild!”
“Weather got so hot it stormed on us just a few moments after the ceremony ended but the tree cover over the reception tables is so dense that only a few drops made it through”
“Can you stay and party with us a bit longer? - Asked Lou around midnight”
“Let’s meet in Athens or here in Vourla next year, ok?”
Bou, Lou, Rou we fell in love with you. See you soon.
P.s.: We genuinely loved witnessing the real-life version of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and honestly, you managed to top the original <3
